Welcome to Harvesters Ministries Inc., where life transforming experiences await!

One summer Sunday in 1981 our church had a guest speaker; an American, missionary woman serving in Liberia, West Africa. Her message was from Luke 10:2, where Jesus is explaining to His disciples how “the harvest is plenteous but the laborers are few”. Many need to hear the “good news of Jesus Christ” but there are few that will go and tell them. Jesus admonished His disciples to “pray the Lord of the harvest that He would send forth laborers”. Pray that God will send forth individuals to share the gospel, minister to the people and reap the harvest. As the visiting speaker began to close her message she began to point at the audience, at no one in particular, and asked the question: “won’t you come?”, “won’t you help with the harvest?” My wife and I, not yet married then, were both in the audience that day. Later we compared stories of how that moment impacted our lives. We both had answered her plea and the “call of God” with a “Yes, yes God I will go”. Our church was small and independent. We were not part of a national organization of churches with ties to larger churches, avenues and missions. For that reason, we did not have a pathway or directions on how to go forth into missions work. Thankfully, eight years later, our Pastor directed us to an international, interdenominational mission board that we joined, and began our training. At the end of our training course we had the privilege of participating in a one week outreach to the country of Mexico. When we crossed the border into Mexico, we both experienced a confirmation in our spirits: foreign missions was what God wanted us to do for the rest of our lives. From that moment forward we have worked to fulfil God’s call and purpose on our lives. This calling has taken us into many foreign lands, cultures and languages. The Holy Spirit has deepened our desire to go forth and help reap the harvest. We believe there are others who may or may not know if they have a call to missions on their lives. Or, they might need an impactful moment that could confirm the prompting of the Holy Spirit to Go. Sadly many, like we were; do not have an avenue or pathway to follow. Harvesters Ministries Inc is an organization that exists to create that pathway.

The devastation in Jamaica due to Hurricane Melissa is astounding! Harvesters Ministries Inc (HMI) wants to help make a difference.

Many have lost everything they had. HMI, together with Grace Church of Durham, North Carolina will partner to help bring aid to some of these communities.

The basics, such as food and water are difficult to come by at this time. Partner with us to help bring these basic commodities to some of the most devastated neighborhoods. 100% of your donations will go to aid the Jamaican families. BE SURE TO CHOOSE "OTHER" WHEN GIVING TO JAMAICA, AND WRITE IN THE "MESSAGE" SECTION WHAT YOUR DONATION IS FOR.

Giving of your time and yourself is one of the greatest gifts you could give! HMI is so grateful to NLOM Church Men's Fraternity for volunteering their time. We especially want to say thank you to Anthony Ellis for the pictures! Volunteers typically don't have time to serve, but they make that time happen. If that's you, there's a place for you!

Reaching out to read a book to a child, rake leaves, serve food to someone in need, etc. actually does more for the giver than the receiver. Once you step out and volunteer for something you believe in, there will be no turning back! There is a joy and fulfillment in serving that's addictive!

We have events throughout the year to raise awareness and funds to aid us in connecting people with ministries that work in the community as well as abroad. Ministries such as Club Nathan. We need volunteers to help plan and execute events, from setting up to managing logistics.

Here are two beautiful faces that greeted us when we arrived on Youth Night! We need help spreading the word about our organization, and ministries such as Club Nathan. This will create pathways to connect individuals to where God wants them to be. We desire Volunteers that can assist from creating marketing materials such as flyers, social media posts, and email campaigns to passing out plates and mentoring.
